My Story…

A half marathon is, in my opinion, quite a Long Walk. And when I think of long walks, I think of my beloved mother. My mom loved a walk. She was often found in Point Pleasant Park, and she believed that a stroll with friends was the perfect opportunity to connect with community, be in nature, talk through problems and successes, and find joy in being active. She was right about a lot of stuff, and she was definitly right about the value of a long walk. Doing this Blue Nose half marathon with her on my mind.

I’m fundraising to support ISANS and their Refugee Emergency Fund. I am inspired by ISANS's mission to empower and immigrants and refugees in Nova Scotia. They provide welcoming care to newcomers through services like career bridging, English language classes, childcare and family services, pre-arrival support and help securing housing. The immigrants that come to Nova Scotia make the province better and brighter. Thanks for your support as I try to reach my fundraising goal!
