My Story…
My name is Vaishnavi Shanoj, and I’m currently studying Neuroscience at York University. Through my studies, I’ve learned a lot about neurological conditions, their causes, treatments, and long-term challenges; but nothing truly prepares you for when it touches someone you love. A few years ago, one of my close friends was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). I’ve seen the strength it takes for her to face each day to push through the struggles she faced with her diagnosis and treatment. And I’ve also seen how much difference awareness, research, and compassion can make. Her journey has deeply inspired me to run, not just for her, but for everyone fighting battles that can’t always be seen.
