Cassie + Friends Society

Cassie + Friends is the only charity in Canada dedicated 100% to kids and families living with Juvenile Arthritis (JA) and other rheumatic diseases. Rooted in our four pillars, we champion research, education, connection and support for pediatric rheumatic diseases.

Together with Alberta Children's Hospital, we’re supporting kids with Juvenile Arthritis (JA) today — and changing what diagnosis, treatment, and life look like tomorrow.

By joining our run/walk, you’ll directly support:

• Advocacy for earlier diagnosis and equitable care

• Equipment Cupboards at Alberta Children's Hospital that provide families with immediate access to braces, splints, mobility aids, and emergency financial assistance — reducing stress and removing barriers to care

• Our rapidly expanding Injection Kit program that helps kids overcome needle pain and fear 

• Youth Mentorship — our trained mentors help affected youth foster resilience and build leadership skills

• C+F Family Education Days that equip kids and caregivers with trusted information and vital peer connection

• Groundbreaking research into precision medicine, mental health, and a cure

All participants receive:

• A free C+F technical running shirt

• Fundraising support

• Entry in contests, prizes, and a chance to join our signature finish line celebration

  
  

Event Details:

• 5KM Run/Walk: Saturday, May 23rd at 9:00am (families + strollers welcome!)

• Optional kids race following the 5KM at 10:30am

• Virtual Option: Participate from anywhere!

• Challenge yourself: The Calgary Marathon offers 10KM, Half, or Full Marathon options—join any race and fundraise with us!
  
  

Together, we’re helping families in Calgary and across Alberta, including those from rural and remote communities, to navigate daily life with Juvenile Arthritis — while advancing the research and care that will bring us closer to better treatments, and ultimately, a cure.

2. Fill out the fields and select the 'Charity Challenge'
3. Join an existing team, like our Cassie + Friends team, or create your own with friends and family! If you're joining with an organization and don't see it listed, or if you'd like to register a corporate team, please reach out to vrinda@cassieandfriends.ca and we can set up your team with the Corporate Fundraising Challenge.
4. Choose Cassie + Friends as your preferred fundraising organization.
5. Begin fundraising and spreading the word! You can find fundraising resources and information on local impact here.
