Every Step Creates Possibility - Why we run for Providence

We’re running as a family to support Providence because we’ve experienced firsthand what it means to be welcomed, understood, and supported when your child needs extra care. When our child first joined Providence, we didn’t know what the future would look like. What we found was a school community that saw our child’s strengths, celebrated small wins, and created a place where our child truly belonged. Through patience, encouragement, and specialized support, we watched our child grow in confidence, communication, and independence. Providence didn’t just support our child - they supported our whole family. They gave us hope, reassurance, and a sense that we weren’t alone on this journey. Now we run to give back, so other families can experience the same life-changing support. Every step we take is for the families who are just beginning their journey and for the children who deserve the chance to thrive. Thank you for supporting our run and helping ensure Providence can continue changing lives.

Description

Support the Providence team in the Calgary Marathon and help create brighter futures for children with developmental delays and disabilities.

Since 1943, Providence has provided life-changing early intervention and inclusive education for children aged 19 months to six years. Today, more than 1,040 children and families benefit each year from our specialized programs, therapeutic supports, and inclusive learning environments.

When you fundraise for Providence, you help children build communication, confidence, and independence—giving families the support they need and helping children thrive in their communities. Every step taken and dollar raised strengthens early intervention and inclusive education where it matters most.
