My Story…
Running is NOT my thing- but I’ve always wanted it to be- so when my gamer loving 10 year old son randomly said to me one day “ hey mum, let’s do the city to surf together” & you know he also dislikes running - you jump at the chance to share experience & learn a new skill together.
It also provides an opportunity for us to give back in some very small way.
Lochie was born with Congential Glaucoma- diagnosed at 5 months old, receiving eye sight saving surgery at just 7 months old and gratefully retains full vision in both eyes. He takes daily medication to keep his eye pressure within normal ranges and wears glasses due to his short sightedness and light sensitivity ( common symptoms/side affects of GC).
GC is rare eye disease- affecting around 1 every 10,000 -20,000 births per year & while Lochie luckily retains his vision, many children aren’t so lucky.
You only get one set of eyes and once they are gone they are gone- Glaucoma is the world leading cause of irreversible blindness so any donations received will go to “Glaucoma Australia” who fund vital research into finding a cure.

I’m doing this to empower Western Australians living with disability - helping them grow their independence, achieve their goals, and live life to the fullest.
