This May, I’ll be running the Gettysburg Festival of Races Half Marathon in support of Warrior Canine Connection — an organization that helps veterans heal through the powerful bond between people and dogs. As the granddaughter, daughter, and sister of veterans — and a lifelong dog lover — this cause speaks deeply to my heart. I’ve seen firsthand the strength and sacrifice of those who serve, and I believe in the healing, hope, and connection that service dogs bring to our heroes. After taking a year off to welcome my baby girl, I’m back on the course with a renewed sense of purpose. My goal is to raise $5,000 to help Warrior Canine Connection continue their incredible work empowering veterans through the mission of training service dogs for their fellow warriors.
