Our story…

Please join us on April 26th to raise money for colon cancer research and support. The Bum Run is an important fundraising event for CCRAN, a patient advocate organization working tirelessly to improve the patient experience and outcomes. Most importantly, they’re advocating to reduce the recommended screening colonoscopy age from 50 to 45.

There has been an alarming rise in the number of young people (including under 40) diagnosed with late stage colon cancer in the last decade. The numbers are shocking. Unlike a full body MRI, a colonoscopy can detect colon cancer, prevent a polyp from becoming colon cancer, and stop local colon cancer becoming metastatic.

After Andrew was diagnosed, I went to my family doctor and requested a non-urgent colonoscopy. I waited only two months. I did have a polyp, and it was removed during the procedure. I encourage you and your loved ones to request the same, book the day off work, and enjoy your nirvana.

Want to Reach Nirvana? Try a Colonoscopy. It turns out that despite everything you’ve heard, getting a colonoscopy is wonderful.

Thank you to Dr. Michael Raphael (Sunnybrook) and Dr. McCart (Mt. Sinai) for their expertise, diligence, creativity, and enduring care.

We are so grateful.
