My Story…
In May of 2025 my routine FIT test came back positive. As a healthy woman in my early 50’s with no symptoms at the time, normal cancer specific blood panels and no family history of colon cancer, there wasn’t much concern and I was put in the queue as requiring a non-urgent colonoscopy. In August of 2025 during my colonoscopy I received an on the spot diagnosis of colon cancer. 6 days later I had surgery where 10” of my colon was removed, was classified as Stage 2 T3, and the journey to recovery began. I have seen first hand how very important colon cancer screening is and how it can truly save lives.
