My Story…
To those who have stood by the SPCA in years past, thank you. We talk a lot about the "power of the collective," but I see it most clearly in the names that pop up on my fundraising notifications—many of you are balancing very demanding careers and family lives, yet you still carve out a moment to think of those who cannot speak for themselves. That kindness is the impetus behind the SPCA’s most difficult work. The SPCA is unique because it does not just offer a safe haven shelter; it actively investigates animal cruelty cases. The Animal Cruelty Investigations Unit is comprised of commissioned peace officers who step into the "worst of the worst" situations—dog fighting rings, illegal breeding operations, and cases of severe neglect. When you donate, you aren't just helping one animal—you are funding a rescue and rehabilitation work for animals who need your help the most.
