My Story…
Growing up, Northern Minnesota was more than just a place I visited it became a part of who I am. Some of my favorite memories were made in the woods and on the water: camping under the stars, kayaking through the quiet lakes, fishing at sunrise, and spending endless summer days swimming and exploring the rivers of Minnesota. The Boundary Waters and the wilderness surrounding it represent everything I love about the outdoors: peace, adventure, family and a connection to nature that is becoming harder to find.
Those experiences shaped me, and they are experiences future generations deserve to have too.
That's why running this marathon in support of Save the Boundary Waters means so much to me. Copper mining threatens one of the most beautiful and fragile ecosystems in the country. Pollution from mining could permanently damage clean water, wildlife, forests, and lakes that make this area so special.
To me this is about protecting our home. The lakes we grew up on, the forests we escape to, the traditions that bring families and communities together year after year.
Every donation helps protect the Boundary Waters and preserve this incredible place for future generations to camp, fish, paddle, and experience the same magic that I was lucky enough to grow up with. Thank you for supporting me, supporting this cause, and helping protect one of Minnesota's greatest treasures.
