Thank you for visiting our fundraising page and for supporting Team Ayoub. This cause is deeply personal to our family.

My father battled colon cancer while he was a fifth-year medical resident. Even as he faced his own illness, he remained deeply committed to caring for others, continuing his training and showing up for patients with the same compassion and dedication that defined who he was. Watching someone who devoted his life to medicine suddenly become a patient himself reshaped how our family understands illness, resilience, and the importance of support.

Colon cancer is now one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers. In Canada, approximately 1 in 18 people will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer in their lifetime, and rates are rising, particularly among younger adults. Beyond the statistics, colon cancer affects families, futures, and the people who love them.

Through this fundraiser, we hope to honour my father’s strength and legacy by supporting colon cancer research aimed at improving prevention, early detection, treatment, and outcomes for others facing similar journeys. All donations made through this fundraiser go directly toward colon cancer research.
