My Story…

Running Full Circle for St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton

I was born at St. Joe’s and today I’m honored to serve on its board and as Community Champion for the Around the Bay Road Race. Running the full 30K route this year is a true full circle moment, a way to give back to the hospital and the city that have shaped my life from the very beginning.

As CEO of Carmen’s Group, I’ve spent my career in hospitality — an industry built on care, attention, and creating meaningful experiences for people. Supporting St. Joe’s feels like a natural extension of that commitment, as the hospital provides care, compassion, and innovation for our community every day.

Funds raised through this campaign will go directly to support vital healthcare equipment at St. Joe's. This might surprise you, but essential items like ultrasound machines, vital sign monitors, and wheelchairs aren’t funded by the provincial operating dollars hospitals receive. Nearly every piece of equipment used at St. Joe’s is funded through donations from people like you, and funds raised through events like the Bay Race.

Every step of the 30K route is a reminder of the difference we can make when we come together. I hope you’ll join me in supporting St. Joe's and make this full circle moment count for our community.

Welcome to my fundraising page!

This year I’m taking on the Around the Bay Road Race and raising funds for St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation. St. Joe’s is the heart of Hamilton — nearly everyone I know has been touched by the exceptional care provided here.

Funds raised through Around the Bay will buy much‑needed healthcare equipment at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. It may seem surprising that items like ultrasound machines, wheelchairs, and other essential devices aren’t covered by provincial operating dollars. The truth is nearly every piece of equipment used in the Hospital is funded by donations from people like you and events like the Bay Race.

Please know that the money you help me raise has a real, immediate impact on the lives of patients at St. Joe’s. Your support buys the tools clinicians use every day to diagnose, treat, and comfort our neighbours.
