My Story…

The 3 Wishes Project – Help us reach our team goal of raising over $35,000.
The 3 Wishes Project continues to make a profound impact on patients, families and staff during end-of-life care at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH). This year, our team is proud to participate in the 2026 Around the Bay Road Race (ATB) as we strive to reach our goal of raising over $20,000 to support this meaningful initiative.
Your support helps us expand the 3 Wishes Project to more areas across St. Joe’s, ensuring that more patients experience comfort, dignity, and personalized care in their final moments. Every wish granted, big or small, creates lasting memories for families and honours the lives of patients in deeply human ways. Thank you for helping us continue this vital work.
After receiving a Word Cloud made for their loved one, one family described its impact:
“The joy on my daughter's face last night was indescribable and I truly cannot thank you enough. This time of year is extremely difficult for our family, and I know that these beautiful gifts of comfort will be treasured by my daughter for years and years to come.”[daughter of patient]
About the 3 Wishes Project
Founded in 2013 in the SJHH Intensive Care Unit, the 3 Wishes Project began with a simple idea: to honor the dignity of dying patients while fostering meaningful connections between patients, families, and healthcare teams. The program invites families and healthcare teams to collaborate in creating personalized end-of-life experiences through heartfelt wishes.
These wishes may include playing a favourite song, sharing a final toast, offering a treasured food, arranging a visit from a beloved pet, or surrounding the patient with loved ones and meaningful rituals. Each wish serves to honor the patient’s life and ease the grief of those they leave behind.
What began in the ICU at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton has become a global movement. The 3 Wishes Project has spread compassion and dignity to more than 55 healthcare institutions worldwide.
“We have been piloting the 3 Wishes Project over multiple care areas across the state of Connecticut in many types of care areas (not just ICU) …and it is making a difference”. [Nursing Director]
Thank you for supporting the 3 Wishes Project and helping us bring humanity, dignity, and connection to end-of-life care.

Description
Welcome to my fundraising page!
This year I’m taking on the Around the Bay Road Race and raising funds for St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation. St. Joe’s is the heart of Hamilton — nearly everyone I know has been touched by the exceptional care provided here.
Funds raised through Around the Bay will buy much‑needed healthcare equipment at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. It may seem surprising that items like ultrasound machines, wheelchairs, and other essential devices aren’t covered by provincial operating dollars. The truth is nearly every piece of equipment used in the Hospital is funded by donations from people like you and events like the Bay Race.
Please know that the money you help me raise has a real, immediate impact on the lives of patients at St. Joe’s. Your support buys the tools clinicians use every day to diagnose, treat, and comfort our neighbours.
Thank you for donating to my campaign and for helping fund the equipment that cares at St. Joe’s.
