My Story…

The premise of the 3 Wishes project is simple: to honor the dignity of dying patients while fostering meaningful connections between patients, families, and health clinicians during the end of a patient’s life. The project invites families and healthcare clinicians to work together to create personalized end-of-life experiences through providing individualized wishes.
I have had the privilege of being involved with the 3 Wishes Project since it began in 2013. I started with interviewing a few family members and clinicians involved in providing and receiving the first few wishes. My role grew and over time, I interviewed over a hundred family members, clinicians and hospital administrators across several hospitals and heard so many wonderful stories about the project's impact.
I implemented many things I learned from the project in the end of life journeys of my family members and know from my own experience how the wishes preserve patient dignity and bring comfort to family members.
Thank you for considering a donation to this meaningful project!
Description
Welcome to my fundraising page!
This year I’m taking on the Around the Bay Road Race and raising funds for St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation. St. Joe’s is the heart of Hamilton — nearly everyone I know has been touched by the exceptional care provided here.
Funds raised through Around the Bay will buy much‑needed healthcare equipment at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. It may seem surprising that items like ultrasound machines, wheelchairs, and other essential devices aren’t covered by provincial operating dollars. The truth is nearly every piece of equipment used in the Hospital is funded by donations from people like you and events like the Bay Race.
Please know that the money you help me raise has a real, immediate impact on the lives of patients at St. Joe’s. Your support buys the tools clinicians use every day to diagnose, treat, and comfort our neighbours.
Thank you for donating to my campaign and for helping fund the equipment that cares at St. Joe’s.
