Burleigh Swim Run 2026

We will have late entries available from 4pm - 6pm Sunday afternoon at event site (Burleigh Lifeguard Tower) and 6am - 7am on race day morning - Monday 26th January 2026.

Join us for the 15th Annual Burleigh Swim Run Australia Day Challenge, proudly presented by our co-sponsors Leaders in luxury property - Kollosche + Coastal Creative Projects, and Burleigh Surf Lifesaving Club.

📍 Location: In front of the Burleigh Lifeguard Headquarters, Burleigh Beach

This community fitness event celebrates Fitness, Families & Fun and is open to everyone – from kids aged 5 years through to adults aged 60+.

Events

The day includes three exciting events, all combining an ocean swim (or wade for younger participants) and a beach run. Distances are designed to suit all ages and abilities.

  • The Challenge (400m ocean swim and 4km beach run) – Solo or Teams Relay option (1 person swim and then 1 person runs) - all ages 9+

  • The Taste Tester (200m ocean swim and 2km beach run) – A fun introduction to the Swim Run - all ages 9+

  • The Young Guns (400m wade and 400m beach run – Specially tailored for younger participants from 5 -12 year olds (with a wade instead of a swim)

This event is all about bringing the community together in a safe, supportive and energetic environment. Whether you’re competing, trying something new, or just out for fun – there’s a place for everyone at the Burleigh Swim Run!

Distances/Events

The Challenge (solo or team):
400m swim + 4K beach run

The Taste Tester:
200m swim + 2K beach run

The Young Guns Challenge (5 to 12 years old):
400m wade + 400m beach run

In the event of bad weather or surf conditions Sunday 19th April 2026 has been set as a back-up date.
