The Community Strong Race Weekend team will be hosting our 5th annual fundraising event weekend. This event is designed to raise desperately needed funds and bring awareness to physical and mental health challenges in our community.
Our event will consist of a variety of races throughout the weekend as well as many family activities including a Boston qualifying marathon, half-marathon, 10km, 5km colour run, and kids run in Sault Ste. Marie on June 20th-21st, 2026. All funds raised will support the AFS Foundation and there mission to support mental health in Sault Ste. Marie and the Algoma District.

The Community Strong Race Weekend started as a grassroots movement to shine a light on youth mental health needs after the passing of local teen, Brett Provenzano, who was always proud to wear his #61 jersey. The 61KM challenge, is a series of races over three days in honour of Brett's memory. Participate in a 3.8k community run Friday night organized by Sault Striders, the 10k run and 5k colour run on Saturday as well as the full marathon on Sunday.
