Packet Pickup • SAT, 3/21 & SUN, 3/22 at Scottish Rite for Children Frisco & FRI, 3/27 at Tupps Brewery
Volunteers in this role will welcome runners and distribute packets and race bibs to the runners and wish them luck and fun at the race. The minimum volunteer age for this role is 16.
Event Set Up - FRI, 3/27
Volunteers will assist with set up and preparation of the start and finish lines, including hanging banners, pace signs, fence covering, and various directional signage. Volunteers should be able to lift light to medium equipment. The minimum age for this role is 18.
Course Monitors - SAT, 3/28
Course monitors play two important roles during the race. First, volunteers are stationed at critical points along the racecourse to help direct runners, ensuring they do not leave the official race route. Second, volunteers cheer runners along the course and towards the finish line. Due to the course monitor responsibilities, volunteers should be able to stand or sit (okay to bring a chair) for long periods. Volunteers will be provided the details of your location on the course and how to get there on race morning. The minimum age for this role is 18.
Start Line - SAT, 3/28
Volunteers will help direct runners in the start line area to the proper corrals prior to the start of the race and help enforce closures. Due to the nature of this role, volunteers should be able to speak loudly and with authority, yet friendly, to enforce the start corral rules. Volunteers should be comfortable in large crowds and able to stand for approximately 90 minutes. The minimum age for this role is 18.
Water Stops - SAT, 3/28
Water stop volunteers have two primary responsibilities. First, the hydration of our runners relies on volunteers to hand out Gatorade and water along the course. Volunteers will set up tables, fill cups and pass cups to the runners. Second, volunteers play a very important role cheering along runners to help encourage them to the finish line. The minimum age for this role is 10 when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
UCAN Gel Station - SAT, 3/28
Volunteers will be positioned at a UCAN station along the course to distribute gels to our runners. While at this station, volunteers can also help by cheering on our runners! The minimum age for this role is 10 when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Gear Check - SAT, 3/28
Volunteers will help runners drop off their gear before the race, will organize bags by bib number during the race, and will help runners pick up their gear after they cross the finish line. Volunteers must be able to handle bags weighing up to 15 pounds and be able to stand for long periods (60+ minutes) during this shift. The minimum age for this role is 16.
Finish Line - SAT, 3/28
Volunteers will distribute food, water, medals and shirts to finishers, and congratulate and cheer them on for a great run. Volunteers will be standing for long periods (60+ minutes) during this shift. The minimum age for this role is 16.
Tear Down - SAT, 3/28
Volunteers will assist with event load out and clean up. Volunteers will be moving and lifting heavy items during this shift. The minimum age for this role is 18.
