My Story…
This August, I’m lacing up for another half marathon, but this one means more than the finish line.
Running has always been my therapy. It’s my happy place, just me, my music, and the road ahead. So this year, I thought: why not run for a good cause that’s close to my heart?
Cancer has touched my life in more ways than one. Someone very close to me was diagnosed, and I’m beyond grateful to say they have fully recovered. But not everyone in my life has been so fortunate. I’ve lost people I love to this disease, and I’ve watched it take its toll on those around me. Cancer has a way of reaching far beyond the person diagnosed. It touches everyone who loves them.
That’s why I’m not just running for those living with cancer, I’m running for their families too. For the people sitting in waiting rooms, holding a hand through treatment, and carrying the weight of loss long after. They fight this battle right alongside their loved ones, and they deserve to be seen.
I’m fundraising for the Alberta Cancer Foundation, an organization that funds critical research, patient care, and support programs right here in our province. Every dollar raised helps bring hope to families facing what mine has faced, and moves us closer to a future with fewer of these diagnoses.
Every kilometre I run this August will be for them. If you’re able to contribute, no matter the amount, it would mean the world to me. And if you can’t, sharing this page helps more than you know.
Thank you for being part of this with me. 💛
