My Story…
On August 16, I’ll be running the Edmonton Marathon.
For many people, running a marathon is about achieving a personal goal. For me, it’s about something much bigger.
I’m running in honour of my wife and my son, who both live with Long QT Syndrome, a rare inherited heart condition that can cause dangerous heart rhythm abnormalities without warning.

I’m also running for my cousin’s young son, Enzo, who was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and a Ventricular Septal Defect.

His family has had to travel from Manitoba to Edmonton so he can receive life-saving heart surgery. Watching everything they have gone through has been both heartbreaking and inspiring.

Over the past year, I’ve spent countless early mornings, late evenings, and hundreds of kilometres preparing for this marathon. Every training run reminds me how fortunate I am to be able to run, while so many families are facing challenges they never expected.
That is why I’m fundraising for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
My goal is to raise $5,000 to help fund research, education, advocacy, and programs that support individuals and families affected by heart disease. Every donation, no matter the amount, brings hope to families like mine and helps build a healthier future.
When the race becomes difficult, I’ll be thinking about my wife, my son, Enzo, and every family whose lives have been changed by heart disease. They are my reason for crossing the finish line.

Thank you for supporting this journey and for helping make every heartbeat count.
