My Story…

My dad passed after a 6 year cancer fight and I want to fundraise at least $1946 (the year he was born).

I got extra time with my dad because of him being part of a trial and the care given by Cancer Care.

The Winnipeg Police Half Marathon is a successful running event created in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.

All monies generated through pledges and donations from our event go directly to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Absolutely no money from personal pledges or donations are used to off-set any operating costs of our event.

In fact, it doesn't even go through our hands. Monies raised from the WPS Half Marathon go directly to the Manitoba Chapter of the Canadian Cancer Society and stay in Manitoba for the benefit of all Manitobans who have been affected by cancer.

Funds raised generally go to research programs like what my dad was part of but have also been used towards additional programs provided by the Canadian Cancer Society.
