Ultimate adventure swim
Solo option
Simply enter and swim at your own pace. We will have a team of water safety experts to guide and assist you during your crossing.
Team option (up to 6 in a team)
Gather a group of friends and swim together. It is very important that your team can stick to together so pick swimmers of the same speed.
When you enter, simply nominate the people you are intending to swim with.
Race option - no wetsuits
Are you a fast swimmer who wants to race? Go for it! You should be able to swim 3km in under 54 minutes to take on the race (flat non-tidal water or in the pool ok).
When you enter, simply nominate that you are intending to swim in the race.
Dedicated kayaker
If you want a little extra feeling of security, book your own dedicated kayaker. There will be a total of 15 kayakers available and they are only able to booked by teams, not racing or solo swimmers.
Qualifying to swim - must be completed by 31 December 2025
We want you to be safe and enjoy your crossing. So, we will need you to do a qualifying swim.
You will need to supply evidence of an official event of at least 2.5km or do your own open water swim and supply evidence of that. It needs to show that you can cover 3km in less than 66 minutes. (2 minutes & 12 seconds per 100m).
If you do a 2.5km official event, you simply send us your result and we will work out your speed. We can send you a list of official events in Victoria.
Wetsuits are optional
The water temperature is likely to be about 17 degrees Celsius and you will need to be well-acclimatised to the cold if you choose to swim without a wetsuit. However, you are welcome to wear a wetsuit. Wetsuit swims are denoted with a small Asterix on the honour board.
