Hi, we are the McGowan family! Our baby Dryden recently had a 29-day NICU stay, and we were incredibly fortunate to call the Ronald McDonald House our home for 22 of those days. Being able to stay at the House kept us close not only to our preemie, but also to our toddler. It gave our family the gift of togetherness during one of the most overwhelming times of our lives. The staff at the Windsor location were so kind, compassionate, and genuinely invested in our family’s journey. They celebrated every bit of our son’s progress right alongside us. Having meals together, a comforting place to return to each night, and a space where our toddler could play and feel some sense of normalcy meant everything to us. Ronald McDonald House truly became our home away from home, and we are forever grateful for the support it provided our family, which is why we are honoured to have been chosen as the ambassador family for this year’s Big Red Shoe Run.
