CREEMORE SPRINGS
Paris to Ancaster
Bicycle Race
P2A CENTO
The CREEMORE SPRINGS P2A CENTO is a point-to-point approximately 110km long which begins at the Paris Fairgrounds in Paris, Ontario.
CENTO means "one hundred" in Italian, which is the approximate distance of this race. It is derived from Latin, meaning a patchwork, like a quilt or jacket, or in our case, a patchwork of roads, trails, farms, etc.
The Old faves, such as the McIntyre/Nixon Rail Line, are still in. More mud at Mineral Springs Road Mud Chute and then to the mud pit of all time - the Powerline Road Mudslide. Just when you think you've made it, you hit with the equally legendary climb up Old Martin Road.
You're only 3km from the finish, but it is steep, rutted, wet, and you're tired. If you can stay on your bike for the whole climb, you're good. Even the overall winners have had to run up this climb in the past. Challenge yourself on this true epic!
P2A CLASSIC
The CREEMORE SPRINGS P2A CLASSIC is approximately 70km long and begins at Waynco Aggregates just south of Cambridge, Ontario.
Since 1994 competitors have fought each other, and sometimes the elements, in this legendary race.
The start is in North Dumfries Township with a challenging combination of trails and hills. Then on to familiar territory to the "McIntyre/Nixon Rail Line", the mud of "Luna Adventures", and the forest of "The Prengerlaan".
Then more mud awaits "Mineral Springs Road Mud Chute", and then to the mud pit of all time - the "Powerline Road Mudslide".
Just when you think you've made it you're hit with the equally legendary climb up Old Martin Road. You're only 3km from the finish but it is steep, rutted, wet and you're tired. If you can stay on your bike for the whole climb you're good. Overall winners have had to run up this climb. Challenge yourself on this truly classic event!
P2A BRÈVE
The CREEMORE SPRINGS P2A BRÈVE is approximately 45km long and begins at the St. George Arena in St George, Ontario. Compared to the other P2A race distances, it is brief, or "brève" in French.
Starting in 2001 we have offered this shorter race. Many people have said "It's only 45K". Then they wonder why they are hitting the wall at the finish. Don't underestimate it. It is a very fast race.
You also get a lot of the best and most memorable sections of the longer races. There is the slow mud and beautiful forest of "The Prengerlaan", the "Mineral Springs Road Mud Chute", and the infamous "Powerline Road Mudslide" that sucks off shoes and clogs bikes.
You will also still experience the legendary climb up Old Martin Road with its steep, rutted, and wet track. If you can stay on your bike for the whole climb you're good. It is a good challenge for many racers and it sees more participants every year!
