The AKD Otway Trail Run
Nestled within the breathtaking Otway Ranges, this trail run takes you on a captivating journey along the Old Beechy Rail Trail, offering both 16km and 6.3km options, carefully designed to cater to a wide range of runners with diverse abilities.
This event is a celebration of accessibility, presenting a non-technical trail that extends a warm welcome to newcomers entering the world of trail running. 📍 Location: Concludes in Gellibrand, Victoria
🏃 Distances:
- 16km Trail Run (Timed), starts at 9am
- 6.3km Trail Run (Timed), starts at 10am
- 6.3km Walk (Free for Participants Under 10), starts at 9:30am
- Canicross runners start 5 minutes after each start wave.

Event Highlights:
🏃 The 16km Run will take you from Barongarook, guiding you downhill through delightful cool bush to Birnam Station and the first drink station at around the 6Km mark. Conquer the hill, traverse through undulating bush, and embrace the pastoral landscape as you make your way to Kawarren.
🚶 Kawarren marks the start line for the 6.3km Walk & Run
🏞️ Both the 16km and 6.3km Trail Runs culminate at the Gellibrand Hall in the delightful Otways village of Gellibrand, offering a rewarding finish to your journey.
🚌 Need transportation? No worries! We've got you covered. Limited parking is available at Barongarook and ample parking at Kawarren, ensuring a smooth start to your day. However, we encourage you to take advantage of the convenient buses available at the start line. Why? Because after completing the run, you'll have the opportunity to stay in Gellibrand, where a hearty meal awaits you at the pub!

Fundraising
The Rotary Club of Colac is raising funds to support the Colac Area Health Foundation's Wellness Centre Appeal and to support Rotary youth, local and international programs. Your entry to this event directly supports these causes.
How Do I Get My Event Bib?
If you enter before February 27th 2026 your event bib will be posted. You will not need to check in to our Information tent before start time. For everyone else, to collect your event bib, come to the Information tent at your start area on event morning, from 8:00 am.
What is the refund policy?
Refunds are no longer available from the event organiser. However, during the registration you have the opportunity to purchase refund protection through the Race Roster Enhanced Refund Protection Program.
If we are forced to postpone the event, your entry fee will be carried over to the new date.
Can I transfer my registration to another runner?
Yes, this can be done clicking on "Transfer" in Race Roster, at no extra charge, up until 8pm on the 20th March, 2026.
After this, please contact us on otwaytrailrun@gmail.com. There is a $10 administration fee for transfers after 20th March, 2026.
