Dimboola Dash Running Festival

On APRIL 12th 2026 the inaugural Dimboola Dash Running Festival will be held on trails alongside the picturesque Wimmera River, starting from Dimboola and proceeding back and forth on a 7km trail section between Dimboola and the Lochiel Rest Area.

The event will offer a marathon and half marathon for runners, a 10km event for runners, a 10km event for walkers and a 5km walk or run option. There will also be a FREE 2km Kids' Dash. This will be a fun untimed event for U/12s.

This is a companion event to three other running festivals that organizer Brian Haddy has established in regional Victoria and NSW in recent years. These events are:-

  • the Mildura Riverfront Marathon Festival to be held on 7th June 2026 (www.mildurariverfrontmarathon.com.au)

  • the Horsham Running Festival to be held on 13th September 2026 (www.horshamrunningfestival.com.au)

The aim of the Dimboola Dash Running Festival is threefold – to attract runners from all over Australia to this historic country town; to encourage more local children and adults to get into the running ‘habit’; and to provide an additional annual running challenge for the local parkrun and running community.
