Terms & Conditions
1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering for and participating in the Selayang Sunglass Run 2026 (the “Event”), you (“Participant”) agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions. These Terms form a binding legal agreement between the Participant and Yayasan Orang Buta Malaysia.
2. Eligibility
Participants must meet the minimum age requirement of 13 years as of the event date.
Minors must have written consent from a parent or legal guardian to participate.
Participants must be physically fit and capable of completing the race category they registered for.
3. Registration
All participants must register via the official event platform or registration channels.
Registration is only confirmed upon full payment and receipt of a confirmation email. Registration fees are non-refundable, except in cases of event cancellation (see section 9).
4. Health and Safety
Participants must ensure they are medically fit to take part in the Event.
The Organizer recommends all participants undergo a medical check-up prior to the event.
Participants with existing medical conditions must disclose this during registration and carry relevant medications (e.g., inhalers, EpiPens).
Medical personnel will be present during the event, and participants must follow their instructions at all times.
5. Race Rules
Participants must follow the designated route and adhere to all event signage and marshal directions.
Any deviation from the official route may result in disqualification. Bibs must be worn and visible at all times.
Unsportsmanlike conduct, including obstruction or harassment of other runners, will result in immediate disqualification.
6. Liability Waiver
By participating, you agree to the following:
You release and discharge Yayasan Orang Buta Malaysia, sponsors, volunteers, and affiliated parties from all claims, liabilities, damages, or injuries that may arise from your participation in the Event.
You acknowledge that running is a physically strenuous activity with inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, effects of weather, traffic, and course conditions.
You assume full responsibility for any injury or damage caused by your participation.
7. Personal Belongings
The Organizer is not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings during the Event.
A baggage drop area (if provided) is used at the Participant’s own risk.
8. Event Photography and Media
By entering the Event, you consent to be photographed, filmed, or recorded for promotional, marketing, or commercial use.
All rights to images, videos, and recordings belong to the Organizer and may be used in any media without compensation.
9. Event Cancellation / Force Majeure
The Organizer reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or modify the Event due to circumstances beyond their control (e.g., extreme weather, natural disasters, pandemics, government regulations).
In such cases, registration fees may be transferred to a rescheduled date or converted into credit for future events, at the Organizer's discretion.
10. Code of Conduct
Participants must conduct themselves in a respectful, safe, and responsible manner at all times.
Harassment, abusive language, or inappropriate behavior toward staff, volunteers, or other participants will not be tolerated and may lead to disqualification.
11. Data Protection
Participant information will be used for the purposes of event administration and communication.
Personal data will be processed in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
12. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Malaysia.
13. Agreement
By completing registration and/or participating in the Event, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to abide by these Terms and Conditions.
