Volunteer details
Set-up/Check-in Crew
Volunteers will meet before the start of the event at Leif Erickson park to help set up tables for check-in and registration. These volunteers will facilitate on ipads/laptops during the check-in/registration process.
Traffic Crossing
We need volunteers to partner/group up and help our participants get across the crosswalks down Superior and Michigan Street- as this 5k takes place on our public sidewalks. We will provide neon safety vests! These volunteers will ensure participants are using the crosswalk buttons and obeying pedestrian laws.
Route Crew/Sign Holders
We will need lots of friendly faces to direct and encourage participants along the route. Volunteers will be spread out across the 3.1 miles of the course and provided with safety vests and maps. The Mission will also provide fun signs for volunteers to hold with phrases of encouragement. This volunteer role is vital to the success of the Miles for the Mission 5K.
Celebration Support
We need a few volunteers to meet us at Bent Paddle on the morning of the event to help set up for the Post-5K celebration! Volunteers will help set up bucket raffle tables, decorations, and signage.
Route Clean-up/Last Wave
Volunteers will get to walk through the route of the 5K last and clean-up any signage/debris left behind by participants/the event. This ensures we are welcomed to do this event year after year!
