My Story…
I’ve spent time both in the military and working in corrections — environments where you’re exposed to stress, trauma, and situations that most people will never fully understand. In those roles, you learn to push through, stay strong, and keep going, no matter what’s in front of you.
But the reality is, that kind of pressure doesn’t just disappear when the shift ends or the uniform comes off. It builds over time, and for many, it leads to PTSD and ongoing mental health challenges that can affect every part of life — long after the job is done.
To support this, I’m setting a personal challenge: pushing myself to run a marathon in under 3 hours.
This isn’t just about a time goal — it’s about stepping into discomfort, testing limits, and staying committed when things get hard. It’s a small reflection of the resilience that so many people in these roles show every day, often without recognition.
Every kilometre I run is a reminder of why this matters.
