As Canada’s largest small county marathon, with more than 1,600 runners, it’s no secret that the Prince Edward County region offers an unparalleled running experience for all, no matter the distance you choose.
2025 was a banner year for The County Marathon as we set a new participation record with over 1,600 runners. Heading into 2026, the marathon committee is more determined than ever to ensure that every participant has the best experience possible along the 42.2-kilometre route winding through the scenic Prince Edward County region.
All runners will capture the true essence of a countryside marathon, enjoying the thrill of the run paired with the charm of local wineries, stunning lake views, and the warm hospitality for which “The County” is renowned. Whether you’re tackling the full marathon, teaming up for the relay, or sprinting the popular 5K, there’s something for everyone.

RACE WEEKEND
Race Kit Pick Up is Saturday October 3rd from 10 AM - 5 PM
LOCATION: The Crystal Palace is located at 375 Main Street, Picton, ON K0K 2T0. You may have someone pick up your race kit for you, however it is then their responsibility to ensure you receive your bib number, shirt and race kit.
The County Marathon finishes in front of the Crystal Palace inside Prince Edward County Fairgrounds located in Picton. Please see the maps on our website for details as we approach the event.
START LINES:
ALL buses on race day will depart from the Crystal Palace (the Finish Line Area) at the Picton Fairgrounds. There will be plenty of parking spots within the Fairgrounds area.
The Full Marathon and the 2-5 Person Marathon Relay start line is located in Wellington at the Lehigh Centre, a warm facility complete with washrooms, water, as well as bag drop off.
The Half Marathon start line is located in West Lake at the Sandbanks Community Church (corner of County Road 12 and 18), complete with portable washrooms, a tent, and fresh coffee, water, and light refreshments. We also have a bag drop off where you will then find your items at the Finish Line in the Bag Check area located behind Crystal Palace.
FREE Shuttle service to your Start Lines is provided for every participant and will depart from Crystal Palace at the Picton Fairgrounds parking lot area race morning starting at 6:15 am.
