Volunteer with Lonely Mountain Ultra 2026
Hi, and thank you for wanting to volunteer at The Lonely Mountain Ultra weekend which is celebrating it's fifth year! Lonely Mountain Ultra does not happen without you, our volunteers. You are key to making the event safe and welcoming for all our participants.
To our returning volunteers, the volunteer registration process has slightly changed. This is no longer an expression of interest in a role. This is you selecting your specified roles and timeslots. For the enthusiast volunteer, you can select up to five shifts.
To make the Lonely Mountain Ultra happen, we require volunteers over three days; Friday 25th through to and including Sunday 27th September. There are a diverse range of shifts from which to choose, including overnight positions supporting our 50 mile, 104km and 100Miler runners. Others include;
Help at Check-in & Registration
Parking Marshall at The Event Village
Traffic Marshall out on course
Aid Station Marshall
And many more besides.
Prior to the weekend you will be provided with a briefing sheet for your specific role and there is a FAQ document to support as well. Under 18 year old's are welcome to volunteer, but are eligible only for certain roles and must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please reach out and chat with us. We encourage participation as much as is practical.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss volunteering, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator:
