Welcome to Alberta's only sand dune 50K/25km-ish race!
It's our 5th anniversary!! Come out and enjoy our celebration.
New this year will be the 25K-ish 2man team race. It's a great chance to be part of Crazy Muley Ultra and get your feet sandy but not commit to the longer distances. It will be the same 25K-ish course but teams will switch out at AS#1. The distances are about 16K and 11K.
Crazy Muley Ultra will start/finish at the Sand Dune Liquor Store parking lot in Edgerton, Alberta. Each course will be one loop and you will enjoy a hilly course that takes you thru sand dune complexes. The course will be a mixture of single track, quads trails and roads (some pavement and gravel). It will be marked with pink/blue (depending on distance) Wainwright Runners pin flags.
This course is meant to show off our local region and unique landscapes. Be prepared to be challenged on non-stop rolling hills, loose sand and little to no shade. Both courses will be 1 loop with both races sharing the first half of the race before splitting off on their own loops. We will have 2 main AS for the 50Km and 1 for the 25km-ish with several water stations to assist in getting you to the finish.
To allow for everyone to have fun and enjoy the area we are finishing at a bar to keep you motivated! The cutoff will be generous with 12hrs for the 50K and 6hrs for the 25K.
We want you to enjoy our local area so stay for discounted beers and meal specials after you finish or cheer on our runners.
To help us with looking after this unique area the race will be cup less so please bring your own reusable one.
Wainwright Runners has a zero tolerance policy for any physical or verbal abuse to any racers, volunteers or race staff. Also have the right to not allow racers with past issues.

While it might be the shorter distance we have made sure you get the full sand dune complex experience. Half the loop will be shared with the 50K runners and then you get some unique single track of your own.

- at Western Financial Group, 910-3 Ave Wainwright, AB DIRECTIONS Friday, June 6th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm; PLEASE bring your own bag if required (ie: picking up multiple packages)
- or on the morning of the race at the race site.

Aid Stations: 2 Aid stations on course.
Aid Station #1: at 16km mark for both the 50Km and 25kmish racers (only AS for the 25km-ish racers)
AS#1- Will have food such as chips, bakery items, fruit, candy and gels. It will also have fluids like water, an electrolyte mix and pop.
There will be a port-a-potty
Aid Station #2: at the 27km and 32km mark (same AS hit twice)
AS#2 - Will have food such as chips, bakery items, fruit, candy and gels. It will also have fluids like water, an electrolyte mix and pop.
Drop bags will be allowed. Please see race volunteers before race start to drop off bags and note they won't be returned until later in the day.
Water only stations:
25km-ish racers will have a water only station at roughly 8km and 24km
50km racers will have a water only station at roughly 8km, 22km, 43km and 48km
Finshline:
Will have food such as chips, bakery items, fruit, candy and gels. It will also have fluids like water, an electrolyte mix and pop.
The Oasis Hotel will be open during the race and after serving food and drinks (minors allowed until 9pm) for all family and friends, volunteers and racers.

Please bring your well behaved running buddy to the race. We just ask that your dog is leashed at the start/finish and aid stations plus pick up after it at these locations. Dogs can be off leash in-between AS if your dog is under control and doesn't interfere with other runners. If your dog is interfering with other runners please leash it for the entire run.
All finishers will get a hand made clay buckle (new color this year) and a finisher beer!
1st, 2nd, and 3rd awards will be awarded to the top three finishers in the following categories.

- 50K Male
- 50K Female
- Relay
There will also be an award for "Middle of the Herd" and "Dead Bucking Last" in the solo events.

Refunds until May 1st are by a per racer basis please contact the RD. After May 1st there is no refunds (transfers allowed still) .
