The Mitchell Thorp Foundation is proud to host our 17th Annual Warrior Spirit 5K Run/Walk & Family Festival.
Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Carlsbad's Poinsettia Park
The event supports families whose children are battling cancer, rare diseases, and critical medical conditions by providing financial, emotional and resource support to their desperate situations.

Q: What time is the Run/Walk?
A: 9:00 begins our Inspirational Presentation. The Run begins at 9:30am, the Walk begins at 9:35am.
Q: Where do I park?
A: There are three parking lots inside Poinsettia Park. You can also park on other nearby streets or at Pacific Rim Elementary school.
Q: What is the course?
A: Check out the 5K Route Map button.
Q: What time does registration open?
A: 8:00 am
Q: Can I sign up to run or walk on the day of?
A: You sure can!
Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: Sorry, you must leave your four-legged friend at home.
Q: Can my kids come? What about strollers?
A: Of course! All kids are welcome, and 12 and under are free! Strollers are permitted.
Q: Will there be food and activities at the event?
A: Absolutely, there will be lots of food, vendors, and entertainment before and after the race, including a DJ, bands, a kid’s area with inflatable jumpies, performance groups and a spectacular aerial entry by current Leap Frog. Safety Instructor Jim Woods and several Navy Seals.
Q: Do I get my chip timer when I register?
A: No, you will pick up your chip at Race Pickup held on Friday, February 6th from 3:30 pm-7:00 pm at Mitchell Thorp Foundation Offices 2382 Farady Ave, Suite 150 Carlsbad, CA 92008.
Q: What if it rains?
A: Grab an umbrella! The Warrior Spirit 5K Run/Walk is a rain or shine event!
