My Story…
It’s been almost a year since I found out I had breast cancer, and this experience has changed me in so many ways - especially the way my body feels, functions, and looks. I struggle a lot now with feeling like I’ve lost control of my own body, but being able to run (technically I “jog” lol) always brings me some semblance of control. I look forward to a day where I can feel like myself again, but setting this goal to run the Falmouth is another step closer.
I’ll be forever grateful for modern medicine which got me where I am today (along with the best husband & family of course)…but there are so many unnecessary environmental factors that continue to put me and everyone at risk. I don’t want to live the rest of my life afraid of getting cancer again, and definitely don’t want to see anyone else affected by it. That’s why I’m so excited to help support the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition’s mission to prevent environmental causes of breast cancer through community education, research advocacy, and changes to public policy. I would be so incredibly grateful if you’re able to support this cause in any way. xoxo
