Running the Falmouth Road Race for Stella & Ryder 💛

This year, I am honored to be running the Falmouth Road Race in support of the The Decibels Foundation — and I am doing it for two very special kids: Stella and Ryder.

Stella and Ryder are the incredible children of my longtime friend, Jenn. Jenn and I have been friends since gradeschool, and my children and I have known Stella and Ryder since they were babies. We’ve watched them grow, laugh, learn, and thrive. They are bright, joyful, resilient kids who just happen to be hearing impaired and wear hearing aids.

Their journey has not always been easy. Hearing loss brings daily challenges that most of us will never fully understand — from navigating classrooms and social situations to simply experiencing the world around them. But if you know Stella and Ryder, you know this: they meet those challenges with strength, courage, and determination far beyond their years.

That’s why this race is so personal to me.

The Decibels Foundation provides vital support to families of children who are deaf or hard of hearing. They help ensure children have access to the hearing technology, resources, and services they need to succeed. They walk alongside families like Jenn’s, offering guidance, community, and hope.

When I line up at the start of the Falmouth Road Race, I will be thinking of Stella and Ryder — of their resilience, their smiles, and the incredible strength they show every day. Each mile I run is for them and for children like them.
