My Story…

I am honored to be running the Falmouth Road Race in memory of Pete Frates.

Pete played for the Lexington Blue Sox when I was growing up, and that's where my family's connection with him began. My older brother, Chris, played for the Blue Sox during several summers in high school and got to know Pete through the team.

As a proud Boston College Baseball alumnus, Pete introduced my brother—then an aspiring college baseball player—to Boston College head baseball coach Mike Gambino. That introduction changed the course of my brother's life. Chris went on to have an incredible career at Boston College and beyond, and Pete played a significant role in making that opportunity possible.

I eventually followed in both of their footsteps and attended Boston College myself. While I was a student, I volunteered as a manager for the baseball team, where it was impossible not to see the lasting impact Pete had on the baseball program, the players, and everyone around him.

Today, my brother and I continue to honor Pete's legacy by attending the annual Pete Frates Polar Plunge at Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Running the Falmouth Road Race is another way for me to celebrate the extraordinary impact Pete had on my family and so many others. His generosity, leadership, and courage continue to inspire us every day.

If you're able, I would be incredibly grateful for your support. Every donation—no matter the amount—helps the Peter Frates ALS Foundation provide care to families living with ALS, fund research toward a cure, and continue Pete's mission of ensuring that no one faces this disease alone. Thank you for helping me honor Pete's legacy and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by ALS.
