Support. Inspire. Empower.

The Herren Project has been incredibly meaningful to me since I was 10 years old. During my family's annual summer vacation to Narragansett, RI, in 2013 my dad encouraged my brother Ben and I to attend Chris Herren's basketball camp at Portsmouth Middle School. Living in Shaker Heights, Ohio at the time, Ben and I didn't know anyone. Despite that, Chris went out of his way to encourage and connect with us the entire week. At the end of camp, he gave my dad his phone number, and the rest was history.

I will never forget the first time I heard Chris share his story of his battle with addiction. When I was 11 years old, my dad took me to hear him speak at St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland. Before the talk even began, Chris made a point to say hi to us. When he spoke, he had the entire audience hanging on every word, little me included. Chris shared his story with incredible honesty and vulnerability, and his message to "be you" has stuck with me ever since. Chris has served as an incredible friend, mentor, and role model to me through the years.

Running the Falmouth Road Race for The Herren Project is incredibly meaningful to me. Through prevention education, recovery support, and family resources, The Herren Project gives hope to individuals and families affected by substance use disorder every single day. I've seen firsthand the passion Chris and his team bring to this mission and the countless lives they continue to impact.

Please consider donating to this incredible organization, and a huge thank you for supporting me as I take on the Falmouth Road Race in honor of a cause that means so much to me.
