I'm "Running for Willie"
Having grown up down the street from the Finigan family and spending a large part of my childhood in the house with the best candy stash, I am truly honored to run for The Willie Fund. Bill’s youngest daughter, Carly, has been one of my best friends since kindergarten, and I was lucky enough to spend so much of my childhood at her house with her family. The Finigans have always meant so much to me, and I truly love them like they are my own.
One of my favorite memories of Bill was when Carly and her parents came to visit me while I was bartending at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel. Bill was an Old Fashioned connoisseur, so I remember being extremely nervous to make one for him. If you knew Bill, you knew he would always be honest with you, so I knew I’d be getting a real review.
To my utter shock, he loved it. I remember feeling so relieved and thinking I could now go on with the rest of my life happily knowing I had passed Bill’s Old Fashioned test.
It truly means so much to me to be able to run in support of The Willie Fund and help continue the fight against head and neck cancer in Bill’s honor. Being able to do this for a family that has always meant so much to me makes it even more special. Any support, big or small, truly means a lot. Thank you for supporting such an incredible cause.

About The Willie Fund and Our Mission:
The Willie Fund was started in honor of William J. Finigan, but known to most as “Willie”, who passed away on August 26th 2021 from Squamous Cell Carcinoma, a type of Head and Neck Cancer.
The Willie Fund works directly with Mass Eye and Ear, part of Mass General Brigham in Boston, and the dedicated doctors who treated Willie, allocating all donations to support research at Mass Eye and Ear, part of Mass General Brigham in Boston, helping advance research, treatment, and the fight for a cure of Head and Neck Cancer.
