My Story…
I am honored to be part of the Project Sweet Peas team again this year! This amazing volunteer group provides pivotal support to our Newborn ICU (NICU) babies and families. As a neonatologist, I share Project Sweet Peas' mission to promote family centered care and value the essential role of parents in providing care and joining our team in decision making. The special touch provided by volunteers who have lived experience has made such a difference. They provide care packages, educational materials, peer-to-peer mentors, financial aid and support NICU events such as holiday photo shoots and get-togethers for families. Truly inspired how the members of this group who once lived the NICU experience are generously giving back to families in our NICUs now.
