I'm Making My Miles More Meaningful with Team DetermiNation!
No One Fights Alone – 2026 Falmouth Road Race Team
We are Team No One Fights Alone, proudly running the 2026 Falmouth Road Race in support of the American Cancer Society. Our team of five—Marissa, Annie, James, Eileen, and Kelly—have come together with one shared mission: to honor loved ones we’ve lost, support those still fighting, and help create a future without cancer.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi, I'm Marissa and for me, this race is personal. I’ve spent every summer of my life in Falmouth at my grandparents’ house, and some of my favorite childhood memories were made there. It’s always been such a special place to me—and it was my grandpa’s favorite place in the world, too. He was the best: so intelligent, kind, hardworking, supportive, and someone I looked up to in every way. Losing him to Leukemia changed the way I see Falmouth. It’s still full of joy, but now it’s also a place where I feel close to him and remember everything he meant to me.
This year, cancer hit even closer to home when my mom was also diagnosed with Leukemia. Thankfully, she’s doing well, but it’s a reminder of just how many people are affected by this disease. Watching someone you love go through that is hard, and it’s given even more meaning to why I’m running.
Running this race is my way of honoring my grandpa, supporting my mom, and standing with everyone who is fighting or has been affected by cancer.
As a team, we believe in the power of community, resilience, and hope. No one should have to face cancer alone—and together, we can make a difference.

Why I Support the American Cancer Society
Cancer has affected so many people I know and love that it’s inspired me to join the American Cancer Society's Team DetermiNation's 2026 ASICS Falmouth Road Race team. Taking part in this iconic and historical road race with DetermiNation gives me the chance to make a difference and honor those touched by cancer by raising funds for groundbreaking research and impactful services for people going through a cancer diagnosis. I’m also participating to inspire hope for those facing the disease. I hope you’ll consider signing up too or supporting my efforts.
Funds raised support cancer patient programs and groundbreaking research that can help save lives. This event also celebrates over 18.1 million cancer survivors nationwide. 18.1 MILLION. That’s huge. That’s why I’d love your support. Will you join me? And if you can’t would you be so kind as to make a donation?
