Becoming a foster parent has been a lifelong dream of mine. When Dan and I became parents, the dream of opening our home to children in foster care and growing our family through adoption became something more than just my dream. It became a shared hope for our family that one day we can provide the love, stability, and sense of belonging that all kids deserve.

As we’ve started learning what that looks like, the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) has been instrumental in preparing us for this journey. They’ve helped us better understand the needs of children in foster care and the incredible impact that a safe, loving, permanent family can make.

I'm raising money for MARE, which helps connect children and teens in foster care with permanent families. They also help children build lasting support networks, especially for those who wait the longest in foster care, including teens, siblings, children with disabilities, LGBTQ+ youth, and children of color. MARE equips and supports prospective foster and adoptive families throughout the process by providing education, guidance, and community events.

Every child deserves a family and to know that they are safe, loved, and wanted.
