Supporting the Alzheimer's Association is deeply personal to me. I lost my paternal grandmother, Roberta, to Alzheimer’s in 2003.
And then, my father Neal, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2018. That diagnosis was, without a doubt, the hardest news I’ve ever received and it still makes me cry every day.
I am proud to share that my Dad is a US Navy Submariner Veteran and a 33 year veteran of the Boston Fire Department.
Over the past eight years, I’ve witnessed firsthand how this disease has profoundly impacted my Dad and our entire family, reinforcing the urgent need for continued research to find how to prevent and cure the disease.
Today, roughly 6.9–7+ million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s. By 2050, that number is expected to grow to around 13–14 million.
The 2026 race also happens to be on my father’s birthday (Aug 16), making the opportunity even more significant and a great way to honor him :)
