My Story…
Empower is an international nonprofit organization that offers support to children, teens, and young adults who have experienced the loss of a parent. As someone who has experienced this type of loss in life, I am eager to participate in this race and raise some money to continue offering programs and assistance to those in need of help and support. Please consider donating!
Description
Join me in supporting Empower by helping me raise money as I take on the 2026 Falmouth Road Race!
Empower is a nonprofit with a very specific mission — to empower, support, and connect children and young adults (up through age 24) who have experienced the loss of a parent. Empower provides events that remind children they are not alone in their grief, and a unique one-on-one mentor program with positive role models from the community who help teach, “loss is survivable.”
Cara was nine years old when her mother Kit died of breast cancer and formed Empower as a grassroots movement out of the gratitude she had for all the layers of support her family received growing up. Empower operates with a lean staff and thousands of volunteers from across the globe and all programs remain at no charge to the family.
