I am running the 2026 Falmouth Road Race to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer's disease—a cause that has become deeply personal to me. My father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in July 2025, and since then, I have witnessed firsthand the impact this disease has on individuals, families, and caregivers.

While Alzheimer's remains a devastating diagnosis, there is reason for hope. For the first time, the FDA has cleared a blood test to aid in the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. We are also seeing advancements in treatment that go beyond managing symptoms—new therapies have been shown to slow the progression of the disease for individuals in the early stages. Although these treatments are not cures, they represent meaningful progress and have changed what is possible for patients and their loved ones.

In addition, ongoing research—including promising prevention-focused clinical trials—is exploring whether Alzheimer's could one day be detected earlier, delayed, or even prevented before symptoms begin. These breakthroughs are only possible because of continued investment in research, education, and support services.

By participating in this race, I hope to contribute to those efforts and help advance the fight against Alzheimer's disease. Every donation, no matter the size, supports research, improves care for those affected, and brings us one step closer to a world without Alzheimer's.
