My Story…
I am running the Falmouth Road Race this summer in memory of my beloved mother Carol Daddio-Pierce. I am honored to run with Brigham and Women's Emergency Medicine team. My mother was all about supporting her nurse's and said it starts with an effective ED team, education, and patient safety.
My mother was a nurse, an educator, and a manager for the Medical and Surgical ICU at Brigham and Women's Hospital. She always said, "We need more good nurses to join this field". She loved being a nurse, being the guide, an educator to her nursing staff, and wanted nothing more than to be at the bedside taking care of her patients. I not only run for her, but for all the nurses out there.
She dedicated her 50-year nursing career to critical care, continued education, and her beloved patients at Brigham and Women's Hospital. She additionally taught ACLS, presented at multiple conferences, and published in various journals including American Medical. Most notable was her inspirational nursing leadership during Covid-19 as she assisted developing the nursing standards of care. Her love for her patients' lives will always be remembered.
I love you mom! Always and forever.
