My Story…
Michael and I are proud to be running on behalf of Why Me/Sherry’s House, where I have worked for the past 18 years. During that time, I’ve met with families in some of the most difficult moments of their lives, coping with hearing the words no parent ever expects, and watching their world shift in an instant.
Why Me/Sherry’s House exists to make sure families don’t go through that journey alone. We provide a home away from home for families who need to travel for their child’s treatment, offer financial assistance to help ease the everyday burdens that quickly accumulate, and provide programs that bring children, siblings and parents together for connection, support, and a sense of normalcy in the midst of chaos.
It is a place built on community, compassion, and showing up — again and again — for families who need it most.
Having healthy children of our own brings an overwhelming sense of gratitude — and a deep responsibility to support families whose day-to-day reality looks very different.
