I'm running the 54rd ASICS Falmouth Road Race for the Joe Andruzzi Foundation
Running to LiveLikeLiz - Supporting Families Through the Fight!
Many of you may know that my long-time partner, Elizabeth Morin, passed away after a courageous four-and-a-half-year battle with metastatic neuroendocrine cancer.
As one of her caregivers, I witnessed firsthand the strength, resilience, and enduring spirit that defined her. But the reality is, the journey was not easy for any of us. Ensuring she could access treatment, take time away from the work she loved—serving children with special needs—and maintaining financial stability and health insurance throughout her fight required constant support and coordination. It’s a reality that so many individuals and families facing cancer experience every day.
Liz was extraordinary—deeply compassionate, resilient, and always focused on others, even in the midst of her own battle. This run is a way for us to honor her and carry forward that incredible spirit.
That’s why we're running for Team LiveLikeLiz in support of the Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF)—an organization that provides direct financial and practical support to patients, caregivers, and families when they need it most. Their work helps relieve some of the burden so families can focus on treatment, care, and time together.
We hope you’ll consider supporting this effort and helping us carry forward Liz’s legacy of generosity and compassion for others. Every contribution makes a meaningful difference for families navigating their own cancer journey.
Description
The Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF) is committed to providing assistance to patients of all ages, any cancer, throughout New England who are struggling financially due to a cancer diagnosis. JAF understands that everyday living expenses don’t stop because of a diagnosis, and JAF provides various programs to help patients make ends meet. Because patients and families must often devote all their energy and resources toward treatment, the Foundation helps alleviate financial and emotional stress by providing grants to assist with rent/mortgage, transportation to treatment, food, and more. Through our Assistance Programs, the grant recipients can focus on their cancer treatment and not the financial distress that comes with it.
