Help me support families staying at The Boston House!
Dear cheering family, friends, and fans!
Please sponsor me! I am a 14-year-old kid who is battling DMG, Diffuse Midline Glioma, an aggressive, non-curative brain cancer. I am proud and honored to represent The Boston House in the Falmouth Road Race this August!
In the last year, I have experienced so many graces which helped me arrive at this wonderful opportunity. Last summer, I endured four neurosurgeries, a month of hospitalization, thirty-three radiation treatments, and many other therapies which providentially added quality months to my life. No doubt, the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from my circles have also sustained my family and me in the battle of my life. Still, my prognosis does not leave me with much time, so I try to make every moment count. As my tumor has regrown and the cancer has spread, I will be needing surgery and radiation again very soon. As long as I have the strength and will, I will keep fighting!
Many have come to support me in my journey, and I wish somehow to give back and say thank you. I hope that my life and testimony will make a difference, encouraging others who may also be suffering a life-threatening illness. Before cancer, I was a budding long-distance runner who raced for the fun of it. With cancer, I now have a greater reason to run. While I still can, I desire to run specifically to increase awareness of non-curative, pediatric brain cancers and to raise funds for one of my favorite charities, The Boston House. Finding a cure for DMG is itself a race, and "running TBH" is a never-ending course.
The Boston House has been my home away from home. TBH folks, the kindest you'll ever meet, have brought joy to my family, receiving us warmly and lightening our burden generously by offering us a comfortable place to stay while I continue to receive medical care in Boston. Their mission is a beautiful, noble, and expensive one. Please consider donating generously to TBH through my page and also sponsoring my older brother Leo Godfrey and our good buddies Harrison and Patrick Holt who will be joining me in the race! We are just four obscure teenagers, though hailing from a tiny northcountry NH town, who will be running for a big and worthy cause. Thank you for joining us in the race against cancer and for supporting TBH! God bless you!
I am ever gratefully yours,
Joseph
