Breast cancer has touched my life through women I love deeply. One of my best friends of 20+ years was diagnosed with breast cancer and recently underwent a mastectomy, one of my aunts is currently battling Stage III breast cancer and another aunt is in remission.
Watching them face diagnosis, treatment, surgery and recovery with courage has shown me both the strength of those affected by cancer and the importance of having support along the way. Their journeys have made this cause deeply personal to me.
I am running with Team Ellie to honor their resilience, raise funds for families facing breast cancer and support the Ellie Fund’s mission of providing practical assistance to patients during one of the most challenging times in their lives.
This run is for their strength, resilience and every step forward.
