My Story…
Make-A-Wish has always been personal to me — and it starts with my brother, David (AKA Welly).
Welly was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at age 3. Watching him grow up with a chronic illness gave me a perspective on childhood that shaped who I am today. He was one of the lucky kids who got to experience a Make-A-Wish, and seeing the joy it brought him is something I'll never forget.
I'm currently in nursing school, on my way to a career caring for others. The more I learn, the more I appreciate what Make-A-Wish does — they show up for kids and families during some of their hardest moments and give them something truly good to hold onto.
This August, I'm running the Falmouth Road Race with Team Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island to help make more of those moments possible. I'd love your help reaching my $1,500 fundraising goal. Every donation — no matter the size — goes directly toward granting wishes for children in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Thank you so much for your support. It means the world.
Description
Together, we create life-changing wish experiences for children with critical illnesses. Every year, approximately 500 Massachusetts and Rhode Island children are newly diagnosed with a serious illness and newly eligible for a wish. Our ultimate goal is to grant wishes for every medically eligible child in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
