My Story…
Why I'm running for The Lead Out Foundation
Every August, I lace up for the Falmouth Road Race — and every year, I am reminded that I am not a runner. It's a genuine stretch for me, but I keep coming back because of who I'm running for.
The Lead Out Foundation was started by our good friends Mary and Dan Holleran after their son Liam was born with Spina Bifida. What began as a personal journey turned into a foundation that issues Quality of Life grants to local individuals and families facing mobility and accessibility challenges — helping them get the equipment, resources, and support that make daily independence possible.
Their foundation's name comes from cycling: a "lead out" is when a rider burns everything they've got to give a teammate a better shot at the finish. That's exactly what this community does for families like theirs — and what I'm asking you to do for me today.
I'm not fast, but I'll be out there giving what I've got on August 16th. Any donation — big or small — goes straight toward grants that make a real difference for local families. Thank you for backing me.
